Burnside, Haskins, Rivelli, Silich & Williams Make their Mark
by Mike McPartlin, Headmaster, Bridgedale Academy
Bridgedale Academy is extremely proud to congratulate 5 of its graduates who were recently drafted in Phase 1 of the USHL Draft. The five, Davis Burnside, Tyler Haskins, Dominick Rivelli, Jack Silich and Gunnar Williams, are all 2003 birth year student-athletes.
“This was an outstanding group,” said Bridgedale Headmaster Mike McPartlin. “They were sponges in the sense that they were open to input, and willing to make changes to improve. We saw it in their dedication, focus and maturity - as athletes for sure, but also academically and as young men of character. We are very proud of them and their successes.”
Davis Burnside
Davis signed as a tender with the Tri-City Storm, effectively becoming their 1st Round pick. Davis is verbally committed to the Ohio State University.
"Investing in Bridgedale helped Davis immensely. He loved the experience and misses it every day, the whole thing, the academics, the peer group mindset. No doubt - Bridgedale had a huge impact getting him to where he is today.”
Brad Burnside, Davis's Dad
Tyler Haskins
Tyler was selected in the 2nd Round by the Madison Capitals. He was the 17th pick overall, and is verbally committed to the University of Michigan.
“Thank you so much for all you did for Tyler! Bridgedale was the best choice we ever made for him and played a HUGE part in his development. He LOVED it there!”
Bob Haskins, Tyler's Dad
Dominick Rivelli
Dominick was selected in the 3rd Round by the Green Bay Gamblers, the 33rd pick overall, and is verbally committed to Miami University of Ohio.
“There is no doubt that Bridgedale made a big difference for him on the ice and in the classroom, as he was pushed daily to be his best. We are seeing first hand what can happen with excellent instruction and extra time spent working on skills. Dom loved every minute he was at Bridgedale and we cannot thank you enough for preparing him for whatever comes next.”
Val Rivelli, Dominick's Mom
Jack Silich
Jack was selected in the 3rd Round by the Youngstown Phantoms, the 41st pick overall, and is verbally committed to Quinnipiac University.
“One of the best decisions we ever made was to send Jack to Bridgedale Academy … an amazing education … extra daily on/off ice training during the school day … excellent coaching … brought his hockey game to a new level. Because of Bridgedale his game and skill set drastically improved and helped him achieve his goal of verbally committing to Quinnipiac, and getting drafted to the USHL and the OHL."
Penny Silich, Jack's Mom
Gunnar Williams
Gunnar was selected in the 8th Round by the Tri-City Storm, the 109th pick overall, and is not yet college committed.
"Gunnar's background at Bridgedale was a huge contributing factor to his development. I can't say enough about the passion and enthusiasm of the Bridgedale staff. Just a class act.”
Mark Williams, Gunnar's Dad
Congratulations and good luck to Davis (his parents Brad and Tracy), Tyler (his parents Bob and Molly), Dominick (his parents Val and Larry), Jack (his parents Don and Penny) and Gunnar (his parents Mark and Tracy) on their outstanding achievement.
