    Alex Di Pauli (1960-2017)

Alex was a wonderful man, intelligent and affable, full of goodness and kindness, and with a real zest for living and for life.

His survivors include his other son Thomas and his daughter Sandra.

    He will be sorely missed.

    Below is Alex's obituary:

Alexander Di Pauli von Treuheim, 57, of Lido di Venezia, Italy, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal, with Monsignor Eric S. Powell officiating.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital, St. Louis.

He was born July 19, 1960 in Bolzano Italy, a son of Leonhard Weihrauch Di Pauli von Treuheim and Edith Martinz.  He married Christina Marie Mackin on October 17, 1987.

Surviving are his wife, Christina Di Pauli von Treuheim; his children, Theodor, Thomas, and Sandra; and his sister Maud v. Lennkh.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a graduate of Universita’ Ca’ Foscari di Venezia; most importantly he was an ever-curious pursuer of adventure, a nourisher of friendships, and a lover of the sea. His family was his greatest joy and passion.

Dear friends described our beloved husband and father as “…un caro amico del quale apprezzavamo soprattutto la simpatia, la vitalità, la generosità, la vivacità, l’amore per le cose belle.”
