On a Hockey Scholarship
by Mike McPartlin, Headmaster, Bridgedale Academy
Bridgedale Academy 9th grader Sean Behrens has given his verbal commitment to play his Division 1 NCAA hockey at Denver University.
Sean is a top defenseman who is recognized nationally at the Bantam Major level. He becomes the 10th Bridgedale student-athlete to make his college commitment, and the first to commit to Denver.

Sean is also a High Honors student at Bridgedale.
"Sean combines an outstanding skills set with a very high hockey IQ and a very high compete level," says Gino Cavallini, coach of the Chicago Mission Bantam Major 03s team for which Sean competes.
"He excels in all situations," added Cavallini. "He's great five-on-five and equally good at quarterbacking the powerplay and killing penalties. He's an all-around great player. I have not coached a player yet at the Mission with the poise Sean displays while under pressure."
“Sean is obviously an outstanding hockey player,” said Bridgedale Headmaster Mike McPartlin, "and this school year he has really upped his game academically too. He earned High Honors in our first trimester and is on track to do it again this trimester."
“As with all our student-athletes, it's been a pleasure to watch Sean mature as a player, as a student, and as a person,” added McPartlin. “I have no doubt he will do extremely well at Denver University.”
Congratulations to Sean (and his parents Kyle and Caryn) on his commitment to Denver University.
