Our son is flourishing in the smaller class size

He is not just excelling at Bridgedale - he is exceeding!

Andy Olson PhotoSending Jake to Bridgedale Academy for his 8th grade year was the best decision we ever made for our son from both an academic and athletics perspective.

Although we had been warned that he may "burn out" (mentally or physically) on hockey, we actually found the contrary to be true. Jake's endurance and stamina have dramatically increased as the school year has progressed.

I can also see significant improvement in his skating, including very noticeable advancements in his goalie movements. We attribute his remarkable improvement in his quickness, explosiveness, and fluidity of movement on the ice and in the net to the top-notch athletic/hockey training offered at Bridgedale.

Simply put, Jake is a much better and well conditioned goalie/hockey player now than when he started at Bridgedale 9 months ago.

Looking back to last summer, what drew me in to committing Jake to Bridgedale for his 8th grade year was the opportunity for a much better education than what he was being offered by the public school system.

Everything from the smaller class sizes, to the outstanding (classical) curriculum, to the individual attention he's received have all made him a better and more well-informed student/person.  That is not to say that Jake hasn't had some outstanding teachers in the past, but I will say that at Bridgedale Academy it seems like EVERYONE care's for these young student athletes.

Last but certainly not least, we feel that Bridgedale is like Family.

There has been no other time during Jake's previous (K-7) school years that we felt a greater sense of family with Jake's school community. Just like a strong biological family, the Bridgedale family is a tight-knit, caring, proud, and (yes) even loving group of educators, instructors, parents, and students that share a special bond.

WE will certainly miss being a part of this family on a daily basis, but I know that we will always have the support of this family even after Jake graduates in a few short weeks. We will always hold Bridgedale Academy close and dear to our hearts and we will think back on this experience with fond memories.

Thank you Mike and Christina ... and all of our Bridgedale family!

And what do Bridgedale teachers say about Bridgedale?

"This is such a special place!! It is life changing for these boys as it centers around strong relationships that encourage strong academic growth. It’s a hockey school, but so much more than that.

"It’s a pleasure to come to work everyday. Thank you for creating such a positive, caring environment."

    Kristi Florey, Bridgedale Math Teacher
