Bridgedale Grad Dashel Oliver Commits to Nebraska Omaha

On a Hockey Scholarship

We are proud to congratulate Bridgedale Academy grad Dashel Oliver on his commitment to play his Division 1 NCAA hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. 

This season Dashel is splitting his time between the North Jersey Avalanche U16s and the Lincoln Stars who selected Dashel in the 2nd round of the 2021 USHL draft, the league's 19th overall pick.

Dashel grew up in Indiana, playing his youth hockey in Bloomington before joining the Chicago Mission where he played 3 seasons. He also represented the USA in the prestigious Five Nations Cup in Switzerland last August, serving as team Captain in 2 of the games.

A fast, right-handed shooting forward, Dashel is the 23rd Bridgedale Academy grad to earn his D1 scholarship.

“Dashel was a big part of our Mission 05 team for many years,” said Yanic Perreault, Dashel's coach at the Mission. "He's a great skater with a really good motor."

"He always puts in the efforts when he comes to the rink," added Perreault. "He commits himself to be better every day."

Dashel attended Bridgedale Academy's 8th grade, his parents renting a local apartment so he could attend Bridgedale and compete for the Mission.

"Dashel made an immediate positive impact here at Bridgedale," said Headmaster Mike McPartlin. "He was very focused in his approach to his academics and his athletics, and so his development was quick and steady. Dashel has an outstanding work ethic and an upbeat positive attitude."

"Dashel is a consummate student-athlete,” says Christina Di Pauli, Bridgedale's Academic Dean.

"He earned a 4.0 GPA in every trimester at Bridgedale, plus he excelled athletically, demonstrating quality of character and leadership skills. We were proud of Dashel then and we are proud of him now,” added Di Pauli.

Congratulations to Dashel (and his parents Bill and Kathleen) on his commitment to Nebraska-Omaha.

Bridgedale Academy is now accepting transfers for the 2021-22 School Year. 

Bridgedale Academy is an all-boys school for athletes, a prep school for serious youth hockey players. We offer grades 5 through 8 and in addition to our winning combination of sports and academics, we focus on leadership training. We pride ourselves on being the top youth hockey prep school in the nation. Twenty-three (23) of our former or current students have already received their NCAA Division 1 college hockey commitments. Seven (7) of our former students have competed for USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. Two (2) of our grads have already signed their initial NHL contracts. Several are now playing NCAA D1 college hockey. Others are now playing D3 college hockey. More still are playing junior hockey, including in the OHL, the USHL and the NAHL.
