Now 7 Bridgedale grads with NTDP ties

by Mike McPartlin, Headmaster, Bridgedale Academy

We are proud to congratulate three (3) Bridgedale Academy graduates who have been chosen to compete for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program (NTDP) for the 2019-20 season.

The announcement that Sean Behrens, Jack Devine and Colby Saganiuk had been selected to be on next season's Under-17 team makes it seven (7) Bridgedale Academy grads who will have played for the NTDP.

They will etch their names alongside the likes of Jacob Pivonka (Notre Dame), Spencer Stastney (Notre Dame), Bode Wilde (NY Islanders signee) and Zak Karpa (future Princeton) as Bridgedale grads to compete for the NTDP.

Sean, Jack and Colby were selected from among the 52 young men invited to participate in last month's NTDP Evaluation camp.

(Click here to see the USAH online article, listing the full roster chosen.)

Sean Behrens

Sean is a defenseman who played during the 2018-19 season for the Chicago Mission U16s, Illinois and Central District Champions. He has given his verbal commitment to play his D1 NCAA Hockey at the University of Denver.

Sean attended Bridgedale Academy for three years.

Jack Devine

Jack is a forward who played during the 2018-19 season for the Chicago Mission U15s, national semi-finalists at the recent USA Hockey National Championships. Like Sean, he too has given his verbal commitment to play his D1 NCAA Hockey at the University of Denver.

Jack attended Bridgedale Academy for two years.

Colby Saganiuk

Colby is a forward who played during the 2018-19 season for the Pittsburgh Pens Elite U16s, this year's USA Hockey National Champion. He is not yet college committed.

Colby attended Bridgedale Academy for three years.

"We are very proud of these outstanding young men and what they have accomplished,” said Bridgedale Headmaster Mike McPartlin.

Congratulations and good luck to Sean (and his parents Kyle and Caryn), Jack (and his parents Ted and Val) and Colby (and his mom Candace and grandpa Rocky) on their outstanding achievement.

Open Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year at Bridgedale has already begun. And we continue to accept transfer students into our 5th, 6th and 7th grades for the 2018-19 School Year.

Bridgedale Academy is an all-boys school for athletes, a prep school for serious youth hockey players offering grades 5 through 8 each school year. In addition to our winning combination of sports and academics, we focus on leadership training. We use a classical academic curriculum and our graduates go on to attend some of the most prestigious high schools in the country, including Lake Forest Academy, Culver Military Academy, Shattuck St. Mary’s, Northwood School, Benet Academy, Fenwick Prep, St. Ignatius Prep, Marmion Academy, Latin School and Providence Catholic. We pride ourselves on being the top youth hockey prep school in the nation. Sixteen (16) of our former or current students have already received their NCAA Division 1 college hockey commitments. Three (3) of our graduates competed for USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. Two (2) now compete for the University of Notre Dame. One just signed his entry-level contract with the NHL New York Islanders. Several Bridgedale grads are now playing junior hockey, including in the USHL, the OHL and the NAHL.
